  3. WeChat + Line group chats, etc.

Possible name for project: FCSN Futures: Celebrating the Graduating Class of 2021

First Email:

Dear ____,

Hello! My name is ____ and I’ll be writing your article for the FCSN Futures project. I’m reaching out to follow up on your interest in working with us. Thank you so much for responding to our flyer or Google Form.

Before getting started on the project’s details, I’d like to confirm that you are a special needs student graduating from high school or post-secondary school. This project was created to celebrate the special needs Class of 2021. Please let me know if there has been a mistake and you are not a special needs student graduating from high school.

Here are the upcoming steps we’ll need to take in order to get started on your article.

  1. We’ll be conducting a very brief interview via email so that I can get to know you a little better.

  2. Out of the questions I’ve listed below, you can choose around 3-5 questions that pique your interest and reply to my email with detailed, thorough answers in a few days. Aim for at least 50 words per response.

These are the questions:

  • First and Last Name:

  • School Graduating from:

  • Most memorable high school experience:

  • What you're looking forward to the most

  • Favorite Subject(s):

  • Plans for the Future:

  • Favorite quote:

Additionally, we recommend that you send us photographs of yourself for us to include in your article, if you’d like! Please attach a graduation picture, a portrait, or any picture that you’d like and we’ll include the images in the final product.

That’s all! The article should be finished in around a week, but our reporter team is very busy around this time of year; please be patient with us if we happen to finish the article late. Feel free to reach out to me or my coordinator, Kaidi Dai, with any questions. Kaidi’s email is kyd@ucsb.edu.

Have a wonderful rest of your day! I’m looking forward to talking with you.

Best,

______
